Is Cursor Pro Free in 2026?

What you can cut is the model bill. On Premium and up, your own API keys or AWS Bedrock put third-party model usage on the provider's bill, which provider credits can cover where terms allow. AI Perks lists those credits, plus one third-party API gateway offer that matches your first deposit, up to $1,000, for model usage inside Cursor (search "cursor" on AI Perks). None of them is a Cursor discount.

Is There a Cursor Free Trial in 2026?
No. As of October 2026, Cursor offers no free trial, so the 14-day Cursor Pro free trial older guides describe does not exist. Cursor staff confirmed on January 14, 2026 that the 7-day Cursor Pro trial was removed, and on July 3, 2026 that it is gone system-wide. No plan on The X Subscription lists one.
The free way to try Cursor is the Free plan, which needs no card. Several free accounts on one machine will not stretch it: an anti-abuse check blocks that (staff, September 17, 2026).
Is Cursor Pro Free for Students or Startups?

What Does the Cursor Free Plan Include?
The Cursor Free plan costs $0 and gives limited use of Agent, Chat and Tab with Cursor's own models: Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5. Cursor publishes no numbers for those limits, and legacy Hobby works the same way. When the Tab allowance runs out, suggestions pause until it resets.

Can Free Credits Pay for Cursor's Model Usage?
Yes, for model usage only, and only on a plan that accepts your own keys. On Premium, Super and Ultra, and on legacy Pro, Pro+ and Ultra, requests sent with your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Azure OpenAI key are billed by that provider, not drawn from your Cursor usage or prepaid credit. Provider credits can pay that bill where their terms allow, but never the Cursor subscription.

- Chat models only. Tab always runs on Cursor's models, Auto and Cloud Agents never use your key, and your key applies only when you select that provider's model.

AWS Bedrock is the one route where Cursor's own documentation says existing credits can pay. Model calls run through your AWS account, so Cursor shows the model cost as near zero.
Connect it with an IAM role in the Cursor dashboard or access keys in the editor. The per-user toggle is off by default and only explicit Bedrock model IDs route there; check with AWS that your credits cover those models.
