AI Perks curates and provides access to exclusive discounts, credits, and deals on AI tools, cloud services, and APIs to help startups and developers save money.
Does CapCut have a student discount?
Yes. CapCut offers eligible students the same Pro features at a lower price. The $180 in CapCut credits card shows who qualifies and how to claim, and AI Perks tracks more student offers.
CapCut's student discount page describes it as "a special reduced price available only to eligible students." The page says that once your student status is verified, you get the same Pro features at a lower cost. It does not publish the discount percentage.
Third-party sources disagree. Krater says the discount is 50% off Pro and launched in September 2026, but that figure is not on CapCut's own page. A coupon site, DontPayFull, says CapCut has no student program, which conflicts with CapCut's page. Treat any percentage as unconfirmed until you see the price on your own account.

What does CapCut Pro include compared with free?
CapCut describes the Free plan as a starting point: "Start for free with the basics you need to create." Its own guide says free suits basic editing and quick social content, while Pro suits people who need cloud storage, more assets and advanced AI tools.
On free, Pro assets add a watermark. A third-party source also lists auto-captioning, 4K exports and cloud sync as Pro-only.
| Feature | Earlier Pro | Current Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly AI credits | 550 | 1200 |
| Cloud storage | 100GB | 1 TB |
CapCut says the old Pro price is no longer offered to new subscribers. The student price applies to the current Pro plan, so the upgraded limits are what a student gets. According to a third-party report, the free tier stays available whether or not you verify as a student.
How much does CapCut Pro cost for a student?
CapCut's help center says Pro pricing varies by region, device and promotions. Pro usually comes in monthly and yearly plans. The pricing page also says displayed prices are for reference only, and final pricing and offers appear after you sign in.
| Source | Pro price |
|---|---|
| US App Store, monthly (checked 27 October 2026) | US$19.99 |
| UK App Store, monthly | £21.99 |
| Canada App Store, monthly | CA$27.99 |
| Australia App Store, monthly | AU$29.99 |
| Third-party check | $14 a month or $89.99 a year (about $7.50 a month) |
| CapCut comparison page, yearly | US$179.99 (not a verified checkout or renewal price) |
If Krater's 50% claim holds, a US$19.99 monthly plan would come to about $10 (half of $19.99). That is an illustration, not a confirmed student price. The only reliable number is the one shown after you sign in.
One more check: a third-party review found no public CapCut promo or discount code as of 22 October 2026. The same review noted that CapCut's student discount page returned a 404 that day, so it could not verify the offer. Verify the current state before you plan a budget around it.

What happens when the student discount ends?
The discount is built around enrollment. CapCut says it is only available to currently enrolled students, so it ends when you graduate. It can also be applied only once per eligible account, and verification is valid for one year.
After that, your plan moves to regular Pro pricing or you drop back to the free plan. Check your renewal date and price after sign-in so a renewal does not surprise you. Because prices vary by region and device, the number you see may differ from a friend's.
A 7-day Pro trial for new users needs no credit card, though availability varies. Some reviewers report being charged after cancelling a trial, so screenshot your cancellation and check your billing afterwards. You can see the plan details on CapCut's pricing page.
Which student perks pair well with CapCut?
CapCut also runs a separate scheme that gives free Pro memberships to students at partner universities. It is available in five countries so far, with more regions promised. Check the card to see whether it applies to you.
Video editing is rarely the only tool a student needs. Design, voice and avatar tools cover posters, voiceovers and presentations. Here is what the catalogue lists for students and educators:
| Company | Free credits | How to get |
|---|---|---|
| CapCut | $180 | Get this perk |
| Canva (education) | $144 | Get this perk |
| HeyGen (educators) | about $250 | Get this perk |
| ElevenLabs (students) | $165 | Get this perk |
Total: $180 + $144 + $250 + $165 = about $739 in student and education perks.

FAQ
Is the CapCut student discount really 50% off?
CapCut does not publish a percentage on its own student page. Krater reports 50% off Pro, launched in September 2026, but that figure is third-party. Sign in and read the price on your account before you rely on it. The AI Perks card is the quickest place to start.
Can I use the CapCut student discount more than once?
No. CapCut says the student discount can be applied only once per eligible account. Verification lasts one year, so the price has a defined window. See the CapCut card on AI Perks for how to claim it.
Does the discount continue after I graduate?
No. CapCut says the discount is only available to currently enrolled students, so it ends at graduation. After that, you pay the regular Pro price or use the free plan. Prices vary by region and device, so check the figure on your account.
Is CapCut free without the student discount?
Yes. The free plan covers basic editing and free templates, but Pro assets add a watermark. Advanced features such as 4K export and cloud sync are reported as Pro-only. New users may also get a 7-day Pro trial, depending on availability. Browse more options at getaiperks.com.
Is there a CapCut promo code for students?
A third-party check on 22 October 2026 found no public CapCut promo or discount code. Student pricing comes through verification instead. For other student offers, see AI Student Discount 2026: Every Verified Offer Listed, or search the catalogue at getaiperks.com.
What other free tools can students use besides CapCut?
The catalogue lists Canva education perks worth $144, ElevenLabs student perks worth $165 and HeyGen educator perks worth about $250. For tool picks by task, read Free AI for Students 2026: Best Tools by Study Task or check getaiperks.com.
