Where Free Model Credits Fit in a Cursor Bill
Outside model credits cannot pay for Composer 2.5, which bills through your Cursor plan. They can reach Claude, GPT or Gemini in Cursor only through your own API key or AWS Bedrock, and only where each offer's terms cover that use. The caveats, as of October 2026:
- Not on Plus or Free. Own keys work on Premium, Super and Ultra and on legacy Pro, Pro+ and Ultra.
- Chat models you pick explicitly. Not Tab, Auto or Cloud Agents, and OpenAI keys cover standard, non-reasoning chat models only.
- Teams still pay Cursor. Individual plans pay only the provider for own-key requests, but Teams and Enterprise add the $0.25 per million Cursor Token Rate, own key and Bedrock included.
