What Muse Actually Does
Muse is a personal AI agent that Meta launched on 8 September 2026. It proactively completes tasks: booking, filling forms, sending emails and making purchases.

The Contributor tier is roughly a 12x discount on input and a 21x discount on output, paid for with your data. That is a legitimate trade for a side project or an internal tool. It is usually the wrong trade for anything handling customer text, proprietary code or regulated data.
Work out which of your workloads are genuinely non-sensitive, route those to Contributor, and pay standard rates for the rest. Then cover the standard-rate half with credits from AI Perks rather than cash.
Meta runs a Llama Startup Program for its open models. Whether it extends to Muse Spark is unconfirmed, and no public source settles it either way.
Why muse.ai Is Confusing Right Now
The muse.ai domain used to belong to a different company. Meta took it over after the original owner rebranded away.
muse.ai was an independent video hosting and search company founded by Antonio Roldao. It rebranded to Skiv on 3 March 2026, with an embed-URL migration deadline of 10 March. Meta subsequently took over the vacated domain as the web front end for its agent.
So a 2025 tutorial about "Muse AI video search" describes a product now called Skiv, at a domain now owned by Meta. If you have old muse.ai embeds anywhere, they were a Skiv migration problem, not a Meta one.
There is a third Muse. Microsoft announced a model called Muse in February 2025: a gameplay-generation research model known as WHAM, built with Xbox Game Studios and Ninja Theory. It has no connection to Meta whatsoever. Three unrelated products, one name, and search results that blend all three.
