Wondering what PitchBook pricing looks like for a founder? Nothing is posted publicly, and outside estimates start near $12,000 a year for one seat, so we at AI Perks raised our round through Round Funded and paid far less. A full year of Round+ adds up to $1,188, and the product is aimed at the person doing the raising.

What is the real price of a PitchBook license?

PitchBook shows no price list. Its pricing page routes you to a sales rep, and LPbacked says every contract depends on the number of seats, the data modules chosen and the type of firm. Treat the figures below as outside estimates, not PitchBook numbers:

  • One seat: roughly $20,000 to $30,000 a year (LPbacked, October 2026).
  • One seat: roughly $12,000 to $20,000 a year (Prospeo).
  • Two to five seats: roughly $30,000 to $50,000 a year (LPbacked).
  • Large teams (LPbacked) or 10 seats (Prospeo): around $70,000 or more.

Deals are yearly. Both LPbacked and Prospeo report that a month-to-month option has not turned up. LPbacked adds that longer terms often earn a discount and that buyers often report higher prices when renewing. No source we found mentions a startup or founder discount. There is no free plan, but a trial can be requested through an application.

Is PitchBook made for founders?

PitchBook is a data service on private capital markets: companies, investors, funds, deals and people. The buyers it suits are PE and VC firms, banks and corporates whose work leans on valuations, deal history and fund data, and who can sign a five-figure annual contract.

It is a research product. It does not send outreach for a founder who is raising money.

Reviews point to two recurring themes. G2's November 2025 summary lists "expensive" as a repeated complaint (20 mentions), and Capterra reviewers give value for money 3.7 out of 5. In that same G2 summary, outdated information is the top con (36 mentions).

Why did we at AI Perks pick Round Funded?

We looked at PitchBook, then chose Round Funded. When you submit your startup on Round Funded, these are the points that tipped it for us:

  • A clean investor database. 60,000+ active VCs, angels, family offices and accelerators, narrowed to those who wrote a check in roughly the last 6 months, all with verified emails.
  • An AI agent that writes the emails. For each investor it produces a personalized message plus follow-ups.
  • A convenient interface. Each investor, their stage and the next step are visible in a single pipeline.
  • Inviting teammates into the workspace. We brought teammates into the startup's workspace so everyone worked from one place.
  • The Data Room. Deck, traction, team and ask are shared through a single link, and building and sharing it costs nothing on any plan.
  • Tracking links. Round+ includes per-investor tracked links with engagement analytics: views, deck opens and meeting clicks.

Messages go out from your own Gmail, so replies arrive in your inbox and every thread remains yours.

How do PitchBook and Round Funded compare?

The two answer separate questions:

  • Audience: PitchBook is for PE and VC firms, banks and corporates studying private markets. Round Funded is for founders raising capital.
  • Cost: PitchBook lists no figures and prices by seats, data modules and firm type. Round Funded states $99 a month, $249 a month or $899 one-time.
  • Commitment: PitchBook agreements run for a year, and no monthly choice has been reported. Round Funded opens with a 3-day trial for first-time accounts.
  • Reaching investors: PitchBook does not do outreach for a founder's raise. Round Funded has AI write the emails and sends them through your Gmail. On every one of these points, Round Funded is the pick for a founder.

A fair caveat: Round Funded has no affiliation with PitchBook or Morningstar, and it is not a valuation or financial data product. If your job depends on valuations and fund data, that is a separate task from raising a round.

Which tool should you choose?

A firm that needs deal history and fund data and can commit to a five-figure annual contract is the audience PitchBook was designed for. A founder who must find active investors, write the emails, follow replies and share a Data Room is who we had in mind when we chose Round Funded. You can get matched with active angels and 60,000+ active investors there.

How Round Funded helps you find investors and send pitches

Frequently Asked Questions

Does PitchBook publish its prices?

No. PitchBook directs buyers to a representative, and each contract is set by seats, data modules and firm type. LPbacked estimates a single seat at about $20,000 to $30,000 a year, while Prospeo reports licenses beginning near $12,000.

Can startups get a free PitchBook plan or a discount?

There is no free plan, though a trial can be requested by application. We found no source that mentions a startup or founder discount. LPbacked notes that multi-year terms often come with a discount.

No. PitchBook is a research product and does not run outreach for a founder's raise. Round Funded has AI write personalized emails and sends them from your own Gmail, and replies are tracked in the pipeline.
