Looking at AngelList to find investors for your startup? It serves people who run funds, so we at AI Perks raised through Round Funded, where you can get matched with active investors using a searchable database.
While planning our round, we reviewed AngelList and then picked Round Funded. This article covers what we saw on the AngelList side, how the two products line up for a founder, and what tipped our decision.
What does AngelList do now?
A third-party explainer says AngelList started in 2010 as a place where startups met angel investors. After its talent business was spun off, the company shifted toward venture infrastructure. These days it sets up and operates venture funds, rolling funds, scout funds and SPVs on behalf of fund managers.
The listed products look like a back office for a fund. There is Fund Administration, and there is Investor Management, which brings digital subscriptions and a data room. One June 2026 explainer states that investors do not browse listings there while founders post pitches.
Why doesn't AngelList fit a founder trying to raise?
When we went through the listed products with a fundraise in mind, four gaps showed up:
- No investor database among the products it lists.
- No outreach tool among the products it lists.
- No plan built for finding investors. The pricing pages we read cover fund and SPV plans only. We saw no free plan or trial, and those pages send you to Contact sales.
- An SPV still needs a lead. The syndicate lead raises money from accredited investors, which means you must first find that person and win them over.
What does AngelList cost?
The price list is written for fund managers. Venture fund plans mix a share of fund size with a flat annual fee:
| Plan | Fund size | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Under $3M | 0.75% of fund size + $3.5k a year, capped at 15 investments |
| Core | $3M to $30M | 0.2% of fund size + $20k, unlimited investments |
| Institutional | Larger funds | 0.15% + $35k |
AngelList's own pages showed us no SPV fee. A June 2026 third-party explainer puts a standard SPV at an $8,000 setup fee plus a $2,000 state regulatory fee, with an $80,000 minimum raise. A founder who only wants to get in front of the right investors gets nothing from those numbers.

What made us at AI Perks go with Round Funded?
Six reasons decided it:
- A clean investor database. Each investor is filtered to recent activity, and emails are verified. Filter by stage, industry, geography and check size across 60,000+ active investors.
- An AI agent that writes the emails. For each investor it drafts a personalized message plus follow-ups. Mail leaves from your own Gmail, so replies reach your inbox and the thread remains yours.
- A convenient interface. One pipeline view shows every investor, their stage and the next step.
- Inviting teammates into the workspace. Others on your team can join, so raising money is not carried by one person.
- The Data Room. Your deck, traction, team and ask sit behind a single link, and building and sharing it is free on every plan.
- Tracking links. Round+ adds a tracked link for each investor along with engagement analytics: views, deck opens and meeting clicks.
What does Round Funded cost?
